Подскажите пожалуйста,
в диспетчере задач множится процесс aahStorage.exe*32,
в Log: Warning aahClientCommon ENERGY.10.201.66.18: CSFConnection::StartStoreforward failed to ping SF engine: last error = 2 (The system cannot find the file specified.) [SFConnection.cpp, 291]
предполагаю, что на 10.201.66.18 (Historian) превышен лимит по тегам.
Где можно найти руководство по процессу aahStorage.exe*32, для чего он нужен?

Tier-2 Storage Process (aahStorageEngine.exe)
Secondary storage process that handles replication data on a tier-2 historian. This is not a Windows service.
Internal process performing tier-2 data storage and low-level retrieval. On the tier-2 historian, this engine receives tier-2 data from the tier-1 historian through the MDAS Server and stores it to disk in the history blocks. On the tier-1 historian, this engine accepts tier-2 data from the replication service and stores it in the store-and-forward folders if the tier-2 historians are temporarily unavailable. Several processes of this name can be running at the same time: one for the main tier-2 data storage and low-level retrieval, and the others for the store-and-forward operation (one instance per tier-2 historian).

Accepts all incoming real-time plant data and stores it to disk.
Internal process that stores real-time data to disk. This process runs as a Windows service.

Множится процесс до около 2000 раз...

В данном контексте это процесс, отвечающий за сохранение данных в режиме store/forward.
По какой-то причине он не может корректно проинициализироваться при его запуске HCAL-ом, и HCAL запускает его снова и снова. Проверьте, что версии файлов aahClientCommon.dll и aahStorage.exe совпадают. Может быть какое-нибудь обновление хисториана не было правильно установлено и что-то там перестало совпадать. Перезагрузка не помогает?

Вы были правы, версии файлов были разные aahClientCommon.dll и aahStorage.exe
